Worthing School gets a PA upgrade

We recently performed a small upgrade on the hall sound system at Sion Senior school in Worthing. The upgrade was kept to as minimal cost as possible whilst giving the most benefit possible. Previously during musical performances, microphones and instruments had to be lined through individual amplifiers on the stage as there was no ability to line into the PA system controlled from the rear of the hall.
Additionally during drama performances, voices needed amplifying in general with minimal effort possible. So we got to work!

The first job was to upgrade the sound mixer which was rather dated. We supplied a brand new 22 channel Allen & Heath mixer with built in effects. The idea was to keep the operation of the system as simple as possible for both staff and students so it was chosen to stick to an analogue system.

Secondly, we installed a multicore which ran from the mixer at the rear of the hall to the stage. This was to be one of the biggest benefits to the system which would allow the school to line both microphones and instruments directly into the PA system meaning the need for multiple amplifiers on the stage was now redundant.

Lastly, we installed 3 Gooseneck condenser microphones along the top of the stage. This would help to pick up any vocal performances on the stage without the need to invest in costly multiple wireless microphones. Additionally the school were supplied with two more gooseneck microphones and stands to use further back on the stage.
Needless to say this small upgrade will go a long way in the schools upcoming performance of Grease in April this year!
