This month we were delighted to be able to help out Chiddingly Church who called us in to upgrade their PA system. The old sound system was rather dated and consisted of four 100v column loudspeakers. The system lacked flexibility so it was difficult to be able to line in a phone, laptop or other media in order to play music for weddings, funerals or other events. The church asked us to look at upgrading their system so something which would improve sound quality, allow connections to modern media and get the hearing loop working again. We went away and put forward a proposal and got the go ahead and started work!
We took out the old system out on day one to start progress on getting the new one in place. We installed 5 RCF Full Range compact loudspeakers into the building. These were provided in white in order to blend in with the church as best as possible. We installed two at the front of the church, two at the back and one in the choir area with its own independant volume control.
The system had to be simple in order to allow someone to simply switch it on and go. We installed a rotary dial mixer with pre-set levels so the system required minimal if any intervention before use. We also provided two new Sennheiser lapel microphones and a handheld microphone which could be passed around during a service where needed.
The important part of the installation was the ability to be able to line in a laptop, iPad or phone into the system with ease. We had the perfect solution for this which was to install a bluetooth / audio input box onto the pulpit. The box gives the church the ability to either physically plug in a device into the box or connect a device wirelessly via bluetooth. The volume would be controlled from the box itself without having to intervene with the PA mixer itself. Have a look below at the box in action:
The installation was completed within a week and we were pleased to receive the following feedback!
