A house gets a new Wireless CCTV system!

Our client contacted us with an interest in having a CCTV system installed at their house. However, where the cameras were to be located and the NVR, it was going to be difficult to run ethernet cables to each camera without digging trenches to run conduit. Therefore, we decided to go wireless!

We installed a Reolink system which comprised of an NVR (Network Video Recorder) with an 8TB hard drive, 4 x RLC-811WA 4K Cameras and an RLC-823S1W. The cameras communicated with the NVR through a dedicated wireless mesh network which would run on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz allowing the cameras further away to use 2.4Ghz to maintain a reliable signal.

Cameras were placed around the property to give an overall coverage. All the cameras use AI to distinguish between Person, Vehicle and Animal and feature two way communication, LED spotlights and an audible alarm which can be sounded automatically if movement is detected.

The NVR is connectable to the internet which will allow a user to monitor their CCTV system from a mobile device over mobile data, a laptop or computer or simply from a TV plugged into the NVR via VGA or HDMI. All footage can be review from a computer, mobile device or the NVR itself.

One of the cameras we installed at the top of the property was the RLC-823S1W. This is a PTZ camera with the same features as the other cameras installed, but this one provides a bit more of a deterrent. What we loved about this camera is that it can lock onto a moving object and track it to ensure that they are kept in frame. This can be set up to include or exclude Vehicles, Animals and People. Another clever addition is the NVR will place markers on footage to show you what has been detected within a recording period allowing you to easily track down detected motion events.
